Because Hitachi Seaside Park grows hundreds of distinct flower species, the month you visit can greatly impact the kind of park you see. The park's iconic flower is the blue nemophila, which covers Miharashi Hill in the spring and mimics the colour of the sky. The flowers are usually at their peak from late April to mid-May.Near the park's main entrance is a large forested area featuring the Suisen Garden where narcissus usually bloom from mid-March, while across the lake tulips bloom usually around late April. Although the nemophila are the most well-known of the park's flowers, assorted other flowers bloom throughout most of the year.Sometimes its hills are rainbow-striped, with more than 260 tulip species on display. At other times, when four-and-a-half million nemophila make an appearance in what’s called “Nemophila Harmony,” the park turns monochromatic blue.Paths crisscross the hill providing views over the Pacific Ocean and the rest of the park. You can take a picture of a hill covered with bright magenta-coloured plants called kochia (also called ‘bassia’ in English) in the fall season. This hill is covered by green kochia bushes which slowly turn red as the weather turns cooler. These autumnal colours are usually best from early to mid-October.Kochia was planted around the place called “Miharashi no oka - lookout hill”. As the name indicates, you can the best view from there. When you look down the magenta carpet from the hilltop on one side and also you can enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean on the other! To add a nice colour gradation, lots of cosmos were planted among the kochiaTrust me, you'll fall in love with this mesmerizing view at the first sightAs flowers are seasonal highlights, the park can be enjoyed year round.

Most of the rides and activities require extra fees.If while you’re there you get hungry, there are several restaurants, positioned around the perimeter of the park, offering delectable and affordable meals. And a BBQ area is available for picnics.Due to the size of the park, there are two other methods of getting around besides walking.
