Beyoncé 'In Shock' as She Wins Best Country Album—Presented by Taylor Swift!—at the 2025 Grammys

The singer also took home the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Miley Cyrus on II Most Wanted. Additionally, Beyoncé secured her first Grammy for Best Country Album.

At the 2025 Grammys, the Cowboy Carter singer received the award, which was presented by Taylor Swift, making her the first Black woman to achieve this honor.

Beyoncé was nominated in 10 other categories and won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for II Most Wanted with Miley Cyrus before the televised ceremony. Upon accepting her award, a stunned Beyoncé expressed gratitude: "Wow, I want to thank God that I'm still able to do what I love after so many years.

Oh, my God, I'd like to thank all of the incredible country artists who embraced this album. We worked so hard on it."

She also reflected on genre boundaries, saying, "I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists. I just want to encourage people to break through that. Stay persistent."

"Wow, I want to thank my beautiful family and all of the artists who contributed to this album.

This project wouldn't have been possible without you. I’d like to thank God again and my fans—I’m still in shock. Thank you so much for this honor."

Like many of Beyoncé’s albums, Cowboy Carter blends multiple musical influences. It’s framed as a radio broadcast from the fictional KNTRY Radio Texas, featuring country icons Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Linda Martell as DJs.

The 27-track album includes collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and even Beyoncé’s 7-year-old daughter, Rumi, along with Black country artists such as Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts, Shaboozey, and Willie Jones.

Instrumental contributions come from legendary musicians including Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Nile Rodgers, Jon Batiste, Gary Clark Jr., and Rhiannon Giddens.

Taylor Swift, who was confirmed as a presenter days before the Grammys, is nominated for six awards this year, including Best Music Video, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year for Fortnight with Post Malone, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Gracie Abrams for Us and Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department.

Both Swift and Beyoncé are contenders for Album of the Year. A win for Beyoncé would mark her first in the category, while a victory for Swift would set a record as her fifth.
