RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Blend the Mango
- Peel and cube a fresh mango, then blend it with water (cold water) until smooth to create a mango purée.
- Using one whole mango should yield enough for two servings, so you can double the recipe to ensure the blender works efficiently.
- If you make extra, save the leftover purée for your next latte or another recipe!
2. Prepare the Matcha
- In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of matcha powder with 2 tablespoons of hot water (60-80°C/140-176°F).
- Using a bamboo whisk, whisk in a quick W or Z motion for 20-30 seconds until the matcha is smooth and lump-free.
- This motion helps aerate the matcha for a better texture. If you don’t have a bamboo whisk, a handheld milk frother works as a great alternative.
3. Assemble the Latte
- Start by pouring the mango purée into your serving glass, using half the purée if you blended one mango and saving the rest for later.
- Add a generous amount of ice on top of the purée to keep the drink chilled. Slowly pour 1 cup of plant-based milk over the ice and mango layer to maintain the layers.
- Finally, gently pour the whisked matcha over the back of a spoon held close to the milk to create a beautiful layered effect.
